The test

Practise all four testable parts

The real test draws from four parts. Practise each one on its own, or sit a full simulation that mixes them just like the day itself.

Part 1

Australia and its people

The land, the people, and our national symbols.

Part 2

Democratic beliefs

Rights, freedoms and the values we share.

Part 3

Government and the law

How Australia is governed and how laws are made.

Part 4

Australian values

The values you must agree to - all five matter.

New to the test? Read our guide to how the test works - 20 questions, a 75% pass mark, and five values questions you have to get right.

Written against the current source. Every question follows Our Common Bond, the Home Affairs booklet the real test is drawn from. Last checked against the current edition: August 2026.

Why is the correct answer "parliamentary democracy"?

FAQ

Common questions

Is this the official citizenship test?
No. This is an independent study tool. The questions are written to feel like the real exam, but they aren't the official questions and we're not affiliated with the Australian Government.
Do I need to pay to try it?
No - you can take a free test right now without signing up. Create a free account to save your progress, and subscribe only if you want unlimited tests and AI Answers.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, from your account page - it's one click, no email or phone call needed. When you cancel, your subscription simply won't renew: you keep unlimited access until the end of the month you've already paid for, then your account goes back to the free plan.
I bought access before - do I keep it?
Yes. If you made the earlier one-off purchase, your account keeps full lifetime access at no extra cost - you'll never be charged the monthly subscription. There's nothing you need to do.
Can I practise on my phone?
Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers. We do recommend a larger screen for full simulation tests - that's closer to how the real test is taken.
